Monologues on Japan: Intro

A long winding tale of events, and a woman in her early 30s finds herself on an interesting 10 week extended vacation in Japan, while accompanying her husband on his work trip. Suddenly disengaging from  a 9-5 job for a workaholic like me is hard to deal with, and I am sure my (awesome) mum-in-law sensed that and encouraged me to try and blog about my trip. So I am trying to revisit a forgotten hobby and keep things interesting while I am out and about.

As this is my second visit here I am hoping for a different experience this time around especially with all the extra time at hand unlike the first time.

Looking forward to new adventures here in Tokyo!

WARNING: I may be distracted by food and buildings, my two most favorite things in a new place, and therefore the blog maybe plagued with these images. Proceed at your own risk!

Fresh Perspectives

Time - Space - People; three possibly disjointed words- but they give a whole new meaning when carefully pieced together.  For me, its experiencing space and its people (with all the nuances), while placing it carefully within a timeline of events to give it a larger contextual relevance.

The original idea for the blog was to maintain a travel log, but it seems like a pointless exercise if I cannot add another dimension of understanding to what I have experienced. Having the trained eye of an architect and an urban planner- I feel I like I owe it to myself, to bring out the finer details if I can.

So I am making a sincere attempt to peel one layer at a time and discover something new, even within the mundane and the obvious. Although, I am going to try very hard to keep away from any technical jargon, I might tip toe around it occasionally, when it strikes a chord somewhere within.

So, here goes my first attempt at being a visible blogger... and hopefully it will be fun!
